The Comedy Club Ashford at the International Hotel on Friday 27th May. 3 Top Comedians as Seen on TV.
Host Comedian – Andy White:
BBC New Comedy Awards.
Winner of Weakest Link Comedian's Special (BBC).
Andy is a Brummie who escaped from a call centre to become a stand-up comic. He combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect. Andy's humour embraces silly voices, funny faces, observational humour, topical humour and his mixed race background. He can do material that's clever, cheeky, sick or just silly. His performance can shift from deadpan to loud and physical.
Opening Comedian – Mark Simmons:
Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year - 2013 Joint Runner Up NATYS (formerly Hackney Empire New Act Show) – Finalist 2012.
With charm and idiocy in abundance, Mark Simmons takes you on a gentle jaunt through the meandering labyrinth of his pun-ridden consciousness. Delightfully daft but carefully crafted jokes punctuated by absurdly self aware set pieces will have you trying out all your different laughs from the raucous chuckle to the giggle of recognition. Autumn 2014 Mark is on tour support duties with Sean Walsh at theatres throughout the UK.
Headline Comedians – The Raymond & Mr Timpkins Revue:
“Absolutely hilarious” VIZ.
The charismatically-challenged uncle and mute nephew co-operative that is the Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue simply has to be seen to be believed. It is simply one of the funniest actson the UK circuit. Combining inimitable acoustic guitar and stylophone driven rock anthems with a plethora of prop-assisted material and some serial wordplay that would put Stephen Fry to shame, it comes together to create a comic masterpiece. Their highly original performance approach has made them a rite of passage for all comedy fans and established them as veterans of Edinburgh, Glastonbury, Phoenix , V and Reading festivals where they regularly headline the Comedy line- up.
