The production will be directed by Mark Ellse, with Kate Wishart returning as Musical Director.
Whilst preparing for a masked ball, Prince Ricardo is informed by his friend and advisor, Renato, that there are people conspiring against him; Ricardo refuses to believe him.
After being informed by Ulrica (the local fortune-teller) that he's going to be killed by a friend, Ricardo intercepts Amelia, the wife of Renato. They confess their forbidden love for each other, but unfortunately for them, Renato discovers them together and vows to join the conspirators in the plot to assassinate Ricardo.
Will Ulrica’s predictions come true? Will Renato go through with the assassination of his friend?
Featuring fabulous music by Verdi, A Masked Ball will be performed (in English) at Queen Victoria Hall, Oundle on Friday 27th & Saturday 28th October at 7.30pm, St Thomas a Becket Church, Ramsey on Saturday 4th November at 7.30pm, and the Key Studio, Peterborough on Sunday 5th November at 4pm. The performances in Oundle will be accompanied by an orchestra; the performances in Ramsey and Peterborough will be accompanied by piano. Tickets range from £5 - £14 and are available from the Key Theatre Box Office (01733 207239), and Oundle Box Office for Oundle and Ramsey (01832 274734).
