Benjamin Francis LeftwichThe Sugarmill, Stoke on Trent
Friday, 26 October 2012

Many people have heard of the song writer Benjamin Francis Leftwich, but few understand that he was introduced to music through classic rock. Some of his idols include the Rolling Stones and Nina Simone, such groups went on to cause the performer to take a decidedly more classic slant in his composition. This is not to say that he "re-hashes" his work, no in fact he is rather revolutionary. He is a relatively new artist on the scene with his debut album Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm coming out in 2011. There is no end to what Benjamin Francis Leftwich may do in the next couple years, but…

The OvertonesVictoria Hall - Stoke-On-Trent, Stoke on Trent
Tuesday, 18 December 2012

The Overtones have stormed onto the scene of popular music in both the United States and the UK, and they have done so with relatively simple and incredibly catchy music. The mood of their material is incredibly light, but it is well composed and it would doing them a disservice to say that they are not talented musicians. For those that are looking for a piece of easy listening with an incredibly well balanced group, the Overtones are certainly worth consideration for the rotation. This is a group that blends in seamlessly with much of the rest of popular music today, and makes a really im…
