After months of anticipation, we’re reopening Jarrow Hall!
Say hello to our animals of our working Anglo-Saxon demonstration farm; discover the incredible life story of the father of English history and see the Codex Amiatinus for the first time in our Bede Museum; explore our grounds and see our experimental reconstruction Anglo-Saxon buildings.
And that’s not all. Enjoy a craft and food fair in the grounds of the beautiful Jarrow Hall house; meet our Herb Gardeners and explore the world of magical Anglo-Saxon Herbs; marvel at the calligraphic skills of the Northumbrian Scribes; experience Anglo-Saxon storytelling and music; enjoy children’s face-painting and craft activities too!
We’ll also be open all October half-term with a range of activities for children including making Anglo-Saxon food, exploring clothing and textiles, Anglo-Saxon stories and more. As well as this you’ll be able to see one-to-one combat demonstrations, historical talks and weapons show-and-tell, and even take part in a very late-night ghost hunt…
To celebrate our reopening and welcome visitors back to the site to see our future plans, you can take advantage of our unlimited passes which will last right through to Easter 2018, and we’ll also have reduced-rate day admission available too.
Join us on opening day to celebrate the gates being reopened on a much-loved part of the North East experience, see and support our vision for the future, and be part of the beginning of a new lease of life for Jarrow Hall.
