Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour: BIRMINGHAM WINS THE CHEVROLET SPARK

UNSCHEDULED TOUR

Thursday 6th May 2010 7-9pm

Custard Factory, Gibb Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, B9 4AA

Featuring: The Mystery Jets

Following on from Newcastle* being announced as the first regional city to win the Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour, members of the public have been getting online and voting in their thousands on where they'd like the tour to go next. With Birmingham and Liverpool switching for first place every couple of minutes, it went right down to the wire and the city that edged into the lead by a matter of votes to win is Birmingham.

Choices included Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Manchester, with unique venues ranging from a ferry across the Mersey, a multi-story car park to an old picture house.

Critically acclaimed band, The Mystery Jets will be playing at the pop-up gig, following on from their European tour with the Arctic Monkeys. The unique venue they'll be playing is the Custard Factory, built 100 years ago by Sir Alfred Bird the inventor of custard. Up to 200 guests will be given the opportunity to hear tracks from their eagerly anticipated third album, Serotonin performed live in the UK before its worldwide release in July.

Music lovers will also get to experience the world's first fully functioning car DJ booth. The Chevrolet Spark DJ car** can be transformed from being legally roadworthy to a fully-functioning DJ booth in under 20 minutes. It measures 3.6 metres in length and stands 1.6 metres high and once converted into a DJ deck the motor powers two vinyl turntables, a CD deck and mixer.

An addition to the Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour is cult nail salon, WAH Nails, set up by Sharmadean Reid who will be hosting their very own 'nail-car', where guests will be treated to an exclusive free session from one of the fashion world's leading fingertip artists.

The Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour will take place in five locations across the UK. Each gig will be a different location and offer a unique live music experience, as a 'pop up' event, where you'll probably never see live music ever again and will take place every two weeks throughout April to June.

The Chevrolet Spark Unscheduled Tour is an invite-only event.
