SONIA SABRI COMPANY - LOK VIRSA: BEYOND BORDERS Visual Arts

Lok Virsa, meaning the ‘heritage of the people’, is a FREE family and friends day.

The festival will be taking place as an extension of the ‘Connecting Stories’ exhibition at the Library of Birmingham. ‘Connecting Stories’ celebrates as well as explores Birmingham’s history as influenced by Britain’s relationship with South Asia.

This one-day festival is a great opportunity to help celebrate the wider diversity of Birmingham and encourage everyone to connect with the stories of the city.

The Library of Birmingham will be filled with the sights and sounds of South Asia on 26th August 2017: 11am-4.30pm.

Come along and join Sonia Sabri Company and take part in some amazing workshops for all or simply absorb the music, dance, storytelling, and visual arts and crafts.

Some exciting ingredients of the day will include: dhol drummers, South Asian dance and music, block printing, mendhi, Arabic calligraphy and much more.

See you there!
