St Nicholas Priory is currently closed for conservation, repair and interpretation work.

900 year old guest wing of a former Benedictine Priory in Exeter City Centre.

St Nicholas Priory is currently closed for conservation, repair and interpretation work. It will reopen around 2007.

The building itself is about a quarter of the original Priory. It was the domestic western wing and the monks' guest house. After the dissolution of the monasteries this wing of the building was sold and later converted to a grand Elizabethan residence by various wealthy merchants.

The Priory has many rooms and features which reveal its history from the Norman undercroft and kitchen to the grand guest hall where the Prior used to entertain his guests.

The Priory is also home to a small permanent display by the Devonshire & Dorset Regiment.
