Amy Winehouse secret album release

Amy Winehouse wrote a secret album which will be released just months after her tragic death

Amy Winehouse was secretly working on a new album which has hit the headlines for being released only months after her untimely death.

The album titled Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures is thought to contain brand new material written by the songstress as well as re-worked cover versions.

The 27 year-old wrote one moving song about her cheating ex-husband Blake Fielder Civil and their turbulent relationship, while another was recorded by Amy whilst she was high on drugs, both will be appearing on the new release.

The album also features the recent jazz duet with Tony Bennett Body and Soul.

Tony Bennett said 'It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse. The recording is a testament to her artistic genius and her brilliance.'

Amy Winehouse's father and mother had the heart-breaking task of listening through the songs, and Mitch proudly said, 'It wasn't until I sat down with the rest of my family and listened to this album that I fully appreciated the breadth of her talent. From jazz standards to hip-hop songs, it took my breath away.'

Music producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi have undertaken the task of pulling the album together for the past few weeks.

Salaam said, 'When I listened back you would hear some of the conversations in between - that was emotional. It has been hard, but has also been an amazing thing. Amy was a gifted girl.'

Last week during the inquest into Amy's death it was reported that Amy was five-times over the alcohol limit when she died, it was also reported that there was no trace of any drugs and that she had been clean for two years.

Amy's secret album will be released on 5 December with the wishes of her family; £1 from each album sold will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was set up by her father to help children and young adults.

Amy's father Mitch Winehouse said about the release of the album being so soon, Had the family felt this album wasn't up to the standard of Amy's others, Frank and Back To Black, we'd never have agreed to release it. We believe it will stand as a fitting tribute to her musical legacy.' Reported The Sun.
