Chili Peppers to play Knebworth 2012

Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining an open air concert at Knebworth Park and Stadium of Light in June 2012

Californian funk rockers, Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining an awesome gig at Knebworth House on Saturday 23 June 2012, which is just one of two gigs that the Chili Peppers will play in the UK in 2012. The second concert will be performed at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland the following night - Sunday 24 June 2012.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining their massive open-air gig at the magnificent Knebworth Hall two weeks before one of the best annual festival events of the year - Sonisphere.

Promoters for the Chili's live performances, Kilamanjaro Live, are the same team that are promoting this year's Sonisphere festival weekend from 6 - 8th July.

The Chili Peppers are the first rock band to appear at a non-festival event at the Stately Home since Robbie Williams performed his record breaking gigs in 2003, which saw him play to a massive audience of 375,000 over three days.

Knebworth is set to be amongst the biggest UK dates in the band's history.

This will be the only opportunity for fans to see the multi-platinum selling funk rockers support their new tenth studio No. 1 album 'I'm With You' in the UK next year.

Speaking to The Comet, Chili's frontman Anthony Kiedis said, 'Yeah we love it here, It's kind of a strange home,' he added, 'So much beautiful music has been born in the country of England over the years, we really admire the hell out of it. But as youths we were compelled to contest everyone, and everything. That's how we started off, as little haters. Then the more we went, the more we realised this place is pretty magical, the reception has been phenomenal over the years, we like it here.'

Bassist Flea, enthusiastic as ever, said, 'It's just awesome. We're going to play our hearts out. To let go of our brains and be animals, let the music flow and give every fibre of our being to the process. I just wanna explode.' He added specifically about their gig at Knebworth, 'I'm going to brutalise it, like a wilderbeast let out of a cage that hasn't eaten in six months!'

Tickets for the two concerts will go on sale on www.britevents.com this Friday 4 November 2011 at 9.00am so set your alarm clocks and take the morning off chilli fans!

Special guests supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers are to be announced in due course.
