FEEL THE FORCE AT UK’S FIRST STANDALONE STAR WARS TOY MUSEUM

To celebrate the release of new toy range, Argos launch an exclusive Star Wars toy museum inside its Tottenham Court Road digital store

Ahead of the eagerly awaited Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens film in December, Argos has unveiled the first ever standalone Star Wars toy museum curated by the UKs biggest fan, Keith Guppy, including toys from the brand new range set to take the galaxy by storm!

Taking place in its Tottenham Court Road digital store until Thursday 10 September, the exhibition brings to life the evolution of Star Wars toys over the past 40 years. From rare character figurines dating back to the late 1970s through to more modern additions such as Anakin Skywalkers Pod Racer from Episode I, the Iconic toy replica display also features the AT-AT Walker from 1980.

2015 builds on the fantastic heritage of previous decades with a whole new toy collection to excite new as well as older generations of Star Wars fans, enabling those of all ages to reminisce about their own personal favourites from years gone by. They can harness their inner force with the new Bladebuilder, a customisable Lightsaber with over 100 combinations, as well as the new Force Awakens Lego range, TIE Fighter and Kylo Rens new Command Shuttle.

Han Solo and Chewbaccas Millennium Falcon has the honour of being the exhibitions jewel in the crown. The new Episode VII version is truly the best yet, being able to fire Nerf darts and complete with LED cannons and three figurines of Chewbacca, Finn and BB-8. At over 55cm long, its tipped to become one of this Christmas most wanted toys, just like the 1983 version, which is also being showcased.

Paul Kinge, Toy Buyer at Argos, said: Star Wars has always been one of our biggest-selling toy franchises. Since 1979 when we first offered Star Wars toys, excitement has continued to grow with every new film release. By partnering with super fan Keith Guppy to create an exclusive exhibition, we can offer fans a rare look at the most iconic Star Wars toys ever seen.

Episode VII is tipped to be the biggest film launch of all time and the new toys from the movie will be some of the hottest this Christmas. We predict Star Wars to be the number one toy franchise, not just for 2015, but potentially this decade.

Keith Guppy, owner of the UK's biggest Star Wars toy collection and curator of the exhibition, said: "The anticipation around both the new film and the toys is like something from another galaxy. As someone who has dedicated the last 30 years of my life, and 50 square meters of my home to Star Wars memorabilia, I understand the phenomenon that captures the hearts and imaginations of every generation.

"It's the toys which help to bring the films to life in homes all over the world. Sharing some of my favourite items allows younger generations to come face-to-face with some of the original toys and for older generations to transport themselves back to their childhoods to relive great battles between the Empire and the Republic. I will definitely be putting several of the new toys on my own Christmas list!"

The Star Wars toy museum is open now until Thursday 10 September at the Argos Tottenham Court Road digital store and entry is free of charge.
