Finding Nemo 2 gets Pixar go ahead

The sequel to the children's animated film Finding Nemo has been given the go ahead by Pixar and Disney with film director Andrew Stanton.

The filmmaker Andrew Stanton, who was responsible for the hit film Finding Nemo has signed a contract to direct the film's sequel Finding Nemo 2.

Andrew Stanton was also responsible for the major box office flop John Carter which starred Taylor Kitsch, in which Taylor played a Civil War soldier who finds himself on planet Mars.

Although John Carter proved to be a financial disappointment, Stanton's Finding Nemo and Wall-E won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature.

The filmmaker was also nominated for a further three Awards for Best Original Screenplay for Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Toy Story and Best Adapted Screenplay for Toy Story 3.

The plot for the Finding Nemo sequel has not been released, but it is known that executives at Pixar and Disney are 'thrilled with Stanton's concept', reported RTE ten.

I wonder if Robbie Williams will be singing in the next film: -
