Host a Fish Supper this October in support of the RNLI

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is holding its annual Fish Supper weekend on 13-15 October 2017, and encouraging people all over the UK and Ireland to host a fundraising fish-themed meal for friends and family to help the charity save lives at sea.

The RNLI relies on the generosity of the public to fund its lifesaving services, and the charitys volunteers often sacrifice their precious meal times at a moments notice, answering the call of their pagers to save lives at sea. The Fish Supper campaign shines a light on the missed and disrupted dinners RNLI crew experience daily and the commitment and support shown by their families.

RECIPES: Whether its a simple fish-finger sandwich or a more challenging culinary masterpiece, everyone is invited to get involved in this years Fish Supper. If in need of a little inspiration, MasterChef champion, Jane Devonshires Cheesy Fish Pie is a great place to start!

Jane says: I love cooking for my family, and my cheesy fish pie is always a crowd pleaser plus, its so easy to prepare. I urge anyone who hasnt tried cooking fish before to give this recipe a try, and impress your friends and family while raising vital funds for the RNLIs brave lifeboat crews.

CASE STUDIES: The RNLI plays a huge part in crew member Chris Missens life. Chris is Helm at Porthcawl Lifeboat Station, as well as a chip shop owner, and often has to leave his customers waiting in line to answer a distress call. Chris says: RNLI volunteers really appreciate the support of the public we simply couldnt do our job without the lifesaving training and equipment they help to fund. Supporting the RNLI by hosting a Fish Supper is easy and fun and if youre not much of a chef, why not serve up fish and chips!
