Two huge interlocked tree houses are being planned by Harry Potter author JK Rowling for her garden in Edinburgh.

Not, just every Harry Potter fan's dream, but every kid's dream! Author JK Rowling's family have applied for planning permission to build a 12m structure of interlocking tree houses in the garden of their Edinburgh mansion. Rowling has three children to enjoy the super structure, aged 18, 9 and 7.

The tree houses are thought to have rope bridges to connect them with turrets and spiral staircases leading to an upper floor level, with a real look of 'Hogwarts' about them. Also included in artists impressions are lanterns above the doors, balconies and carvings.

The houses would be built on wooden stilts. It would also details like a trapdoor and rope ladder. The roof would have cedar shingle tiles and nature boxes for birds to nest in. The application said the tree houses would be 'screened from view by an existing mature cypress hedge, boundary wall and security screen fence'. Every kid in the class will be desperate for an invite to tea...and probably the teachers as well!
