KENDAL MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL 19th-22nd November

Every November over 13,000 people arrive in Kendal from all over the globe to meet some of the worlds most intrepid and daring adventurers and outdoor athletes men and women who, against all the odds, accomplish incredible feats of skill and bravery.

The festival provides a host of lectures, literary awards, photography and over 60 film screenings (including the cream of new releases), culminating in a special 150th anniversary presentation of the Golden Age of Alpinism.

2015s festival is headlined by Americas fearless climber, Tommy Caldwell who, along with his partner Kevin Jorgeson, shot to worldwide fame in January for the first ever free-climb using only their hands and feet to pull themselves up (no ropes) of the Dawn Wall of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. Tommy is joined in the three-day festival programme by Sean Conway, the fabulously-bearded adventurer, whose hit Discovery TV series, Running Britain graced the nations screens back in June.

Kendals film selection this year includes the spectacular Citadel, the worlds first 4k mountain climb film from Alastair Lee, Matt Helliker and Jon Bracey. Transition from Hot Aches Productions, featuring Natalie Berry and Dave Macleod, will get its world premiere at the festival.

With more than 300 hours of captivating events in 7 different venues, including over 30 more workshops and lectures from the likes of Ben Moon, Neil Gresham, Leo Houlding, Kenton Cool, Andy Kirkpatrick, Squash Falconer, Nina Caprez and Toby Storie-Pugh, theres certainly no shortage of sessions for festival-goers to enjoy.

Tickets are on sale now and available from www.mountainfest.co.uk
