Star Wars original cast star in new Disney trilogy NEWS

Star Wars original cast star in new Disney trilogy

It has been confirmed that two of the original cast from the iconic Star Wars films will be coming back to feature in the new films. Harrison Ford who played Han Solo and Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia will both be returning in Star Wars Episode VII.

Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher have both confirmed that they will be returning to the big screen for the upcoming Star Wars trilogy.

The 57 year old actress confirmed her return to the Scifi trilogy during an interview with the Palm Beach Illustrated.

When they asked her what she thought Princess Leia would be like now, she laughed and replied:#quote#Elderly. She's in an intergalactic old folks home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for a big battle.#/quote#

Fisher was just 27 years-old when she first appeared in the Star Wars saga, and after years of abusing her body with drugs, alcohol and serious mental illness the actress looks a lot older than her 57 years.

Harrison Ford has also committed to make a come back  in the forth coming series of Star Wars films, according to Fox News 'the deal is done. It's huge'.

It is unsure if the 70 year-old actor will be making a cameo appearance or something slightly larger.

Produced by Disney, this trilogy will be directed by JJ Abrams and will be set sometime in the future, with Princess Leia and Han Solo appearing a lot older with their children being the main characters.

It has also been confirmed that R2D2 and C-3PO will also be staring unchanged.

This return from Harrison Ford has been rumoured for sometime, but is still surprising news, as in 2010 Ford confirmed that he had asked to have his character Han Solo killed off in the return of the Jedi but was unsuccessful.

The new Star Wars film is set for release in 2015
