Start the New Year with a new hobby - antiques collecting NEWS
The St. Ives Antiques Fair is just the thing to get you started in the New Year with a new hobby
After the excesses of Christmas usually comes a time of torpor as we venture into the first days of 2019 but why not use this time to take up and develop a new hobby of antiques collecting?
But not this year because the AA-signposted St Ives Antiques Fair, to be held on Saturday & Sunday, 29th & 30th December 2018 in the Burgess Hall, St Ives (Cambs), will not only provide a pleasurable day out away from left-over mince pies, family squabbles and burnt-out crackers, but might also serve as an introduction to a new hobby of finding and collecting antiques, vintage and retro pieces an absorbing and interesting hobby that could also result in being able to snap up a bargain at the Fair that is far better than something found in the scrum of the January sales!
And new this time are our unique 10-minute Caf Chats held 3 times a day, each on a different aspect of antiques-collecting to enjoy with a cuppa and a short rest, to whet the appetite for browsing and buying from the wide selection of beautiful and tempting antique, vintage and retro pieces on offer at the Fair.
As usual the hall will be a packed full of expert dealers offering a fascinating mix of antiques, vintage and retro pieces that are both fascinating and unique. Organiser Linda Parkhouse said. We have a fabulous mix of well-established and expert antiques specialists at the Fair, offering beautiful and unique pieces such as ceramics, porcelain, silver, books, paintings and prints, glassware, costume and precious jewellery and small furniture, as well as some interesting vintage and retro pieces, so there really is something to offer everyone and all ages. Getting hooked on antiques is certainly a New Years Resolution worth keeping and there is certainly plenty to inspire you here.
The St. Ives Antiques Fair is held in the welcoming and comfortable surroundings of Burgess Hall, which is warmly carpeted, with plenty of free parking and wheelchair access by lift from ground level. There is also on-site catering for snacks and hot meals, as well as a licensed bar.
