Walkable rollercoaster in Germany

A colossal sculpture has opened in Germany that is, essentially, a walkable roller coaster.

The Tiger & Turtle Magic Mountain has opened in Germany and is a metal structure that stands 21-meters tall on top of an old mining operations hill.

Designed by German artists Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth, the structure consists of hundreds of steps which visitors are welcome to walk on, though the loop in the middle is - of course - insurmountable.

It is an impressive feat of engineering and one that would likely be laughed out of roller-coaster-kingdom America, where statistics show 70% of car journeys are less than 2 miles long.

The Tiger & Turtle puts visitors 280 feet above sea level, providing great views of the surrounding Duisburg countryside.

The name is said to contrast the sense of tiger-like speed associated with thrill rides with the slow-paced turtle-like steps.

The project took over a year to construct, costing over £1m. It certainly won't get your adrenaline pumping, but will provide a good work out over its 220-metres of steps!
