American rock band "The Alabama Shakes" knew from the beginning that they wanted to create a new and different sound that reflected their own personal tastes.

Lead singer Brittany Howard had a passion for music and decided while in high school to approach Zac Cockrell about making music together simply because he was known to play bass. After realizing that they sounded great together, Howard invited drummer Steve Johnson to join them. The three soon made a name for themselves, and word of their talent eventually made it to Heath Fogg, who just so happened to be lead guitarist in a band of his own. Soon the band was making a name for itself, creating music that was unique to their style, as well as covering songs from well known bands such as Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. It did not take long before they took off, essentially knocking the socks off of everyone who heard them. With the album "Boys & Girls" a major success, The Alabama Shakes has the opportunity to prove that genuine rock and roll is still alive and kicking!
