Nominated for the BRIT Awards 2012 in the category International Breakthrough Act, you know we are not talking about just any new indie pop band. The three-piece Los Angeles based band Foster the People was formed in 2009 with Mark Foster, Cubbie Fink and Mark Pontius and brings you versatile songs with feel-good, recognizable beats. The release of their breakthrough song and 2010-hit Pumped Up Kicks was followed by what started out as a low-key under-the-radar-tour where they would notify their early fans through a mailing-list about where they would be performing. Their audiences grew rapidly and 2011 brought the release of their first album Torches. When FIFA 12 decided to use their song Call it What You Want, this meant world-exposure and a huge increase in their fan base magnitude. By the end of 2011 they had played many sold-out concerts and by the looks of it their 2012 tour will take them to new heights of success.
