With their eighth full-length album "Born Villain" set to be released in May 2012, long-time industrial rockers Marilyn Manson have embarked on an international tour to promote the new album.

Dubbed the "Hey Cruel World" tour, Manson is slotted to play 41 live shows spanning Australia, Asia, North America and Europe."Born Villain" will be Marilyn Manson's first new album in three years, following 2009's "The High End of Low," which saw Manson reunited with fan-favorite bassist Twiggy Ramirez. Many longtime fans felt disillusioned with the band's prior album, 2007's "Eat Me, Drink Me", on which Manson displayed a much mellower and more personal side of his music.With Ramirez's return on "The High End of Low", Marilyn Manson proved they hadn't lost their dark metal edge. With "Born Villain", Manson hopes to reaffirm that fact. Twiggy Ramirez was quoted saying the album is going to be similar to 1998's "Mechanical Animals" with a more punk rock sound incorporated in.As has always been the case with Marilyn Manson, their studio albums only tell half the story. The band is equally as known for the wild controversies surrounding their music, as well as their over-the-top live performances. With the "Hey Cruel World" tour, Manson hopes to prove that old age hasn't dulled the band's sense of mayhem and rebellion.
