American born blues musician Seasick Steve - real name Steven Gene Wold - has a long and distinguished career in the music industry.

Learning the guitar at the age of eight, Steve left home at 13 and lived rough in Tennesse, hopping freight trains and working as a farm labourer, often living as a hobo. Sounds like a hit movie, right? It gets better, he's also been a cowboy and a migrant worker. After touring with fellow musicians in the 1960's he soon befriended the likes of Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell, and his career was finally cemented. Even Kurt Cobain was a personal friend. In the last few years he has performed with Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, played at Reading and Leeds Festival, and an appearance at Fairport Cropredy COnvention. And the name? Well, he says that "I always get seasick". Fair enough.
