Hailing from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland this talented girl had only slight singing experience before her unexpected television success. New York based Wheatus were formed by band member Brendan B. Brown in 1995 with the help of brother Peter Brown on drums, Philip Jiminez on keyboards and Rich Liegey on bass, starting out playing at Luna Lounge in New York. Despite this punk pop band forming way back in 1994, they didn't rise from local prominence until made several supporting appearances for large punk and ska bands. Gary Numan
Gary Numan was a pioneer in the early electronic scene, confounding the contemporary music press with his androgynous stage presence and signature technique of feeding synthesizer hooks through guitar effect pedals. His most famous single, "Cars", spent one week at number one in the UK, while "Down in the Park", while not a commercial success, remains a fan favourite and spawned more covers than any of his other efforts. Though Numan was quickly eclipsed by more ambitious acts such as Adam Ant and Depeche Mode, he remained an important influence for plenty of modern musicians.
