Availability: Monday to Saturday all year round excluding bank holidays and the Christmas period. Please give about two weeks notice when booking a date and about three weeks notice for bookings during popular periods such as school holidays. Weather: Riding may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather (e.g. heavy rain or snow). If you have any concerns about the weather, please call the venue before leaving home. Duration: Lasts for two hours, with riding time around an hour and refreshments afterwards. Numbers On Day: Groups normally average six people and are never larger than eight, with an instructor present at all times. Spectators: Up to two spectators are welcome to come and watch. Dress Code: Wear comfortable clothes (e.g. leggings, jodhpurs or track suit bottoms) with wellingtons or riding boots. Jeans, trainers and lace-up shoes are not recommended. Wear your own hat (if it conforms to safety standards) or the venue can provide one. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is four. Maximum weight is 14.5 stone (venue reserve the right to weigh on the day). Suitable for total beginners with no riding experience. Once confidence is gained, follow up with a ride into the Epping Forest countryside for a full hour. After a safety briefing the instructor will introduce a horse and teach the finer intricacies of how to groom and tack up. After the ride, untack and rest the horse before going inside for refreshments of tea, coffee, cold drinks and a variety of cakes - the perfect end to a perfect experience.
