Ether is the Southbank Centre's festival which is a yearly celebration of all things Music, Art, Technology, Innovation and Cross-Arts Experimentation. Since it's birth in 2002, Ether has become the place where the digital culture and cutting edge collaborations can come together to create an explosion of groundbreaking work.

Recognised and supported by the Arts Council England, Ether has worked with Kraftwerk, Lou Reed, Jonny Greenwood and Thom York to name but a few. It features a huge range of music and art forms through mediums such as iconic films, visual arts installations, talks and exhibitions.

Held throughout the year in London's Southbank Centre, their up and coming ticketed events run from 12th to 19th October and include 'Decasia: Michael Gordon and Bill Morrison Discussion' and 'Uncaged Soundings' from Jon Cage. Ether pride themselves on using all of the Southbank Centre's building spaces including The Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room, the Hayward Gallery and the Saison Poetry Library, and they even involve outdoor creative spaces around the area to add a new and exciting element to the festival.

In praise of Ether: 'Going boldly where few sounds have been before, Ether festival returns for a round of pioneering, experimental shows.' (Guardian Guide)
