Fury over Kate Middleton's bikini pics

Aussie magazine Woman's Day has published a front page picture of Kate Middleton wearing a bikini whilst on her honeymoon last year.

Kate Middleton hits the headlines to today, when a cheeky Australian magazine published a picture of her in a bikini whilst on her honeymoon last year with her new husband Prince William.

The photo has been published on the front page of Aussie mag 'Woman's Day'and is the only magazine in the world to publish such a picture, reported Sky.com.

The controversial photo, which was taken last year, was released yesterday when the magazine hit the shelves in Australia.

The royal couple spent their honeymoon in the Seychelles after their very public Royal Wedding in April 2011; the media were asked to respect the couple's privacy whilst they were there.

But the Aussie tabloid magazine decided to put the picture on the front of their latest issue with the headline 'Our island paradise', which wrongly suggests that the couple have approved the publication.

Inside the issue another 15 images, showing the couple swimming in the ocean during their 10-day break, can also be seen.

The front page shot, which is the most intimate photo ever to be published of the royal couple, shows a bronzed and taut stomached Kate strolling along the beach dressed in only a black and gold bikini holding hands with her beaming Prince who is dressed in just floral board shorts holding what looks like a security radio.

An angry St James's Palace have said : 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge considered their honeymoon to be a private event after their hugely public wedding. For this reason they asked the media to respect their privacy. That is something they continue to do.'

The royal couple have been reported to be 'upset' about the pictures, whilst royal sources have said that they are surprised' at the decision by the magazine to publish the images.

Royal sources said that Kate and William 'feel it is a significant invasion of a very private, special time.'

The Australian magazine has previously caused anger with the royal household when they released details of Prince Harry's deployment in Afghanistan; which resulted in the Prince being recalled. This controversial publication was during a so called 'media blackout' in 2008.

These recent pictures of the newlyweds are expected to anger the Duke of Cambridge, as he has gone to great lengths to keep Kate sheltered from press intrusion following the tragic death of his Mother, Princess Diana in 1997.
